Ups and Downs
Equanimity.
I am on the way. In the distance, a mountain peak. The path from here to there looks direct, from a distance, yet in the walking contains turn after turn, ascent after descent after ascent.
There is no way to go as the crow flies, the path must be walked.

Here, this darkened turning, let me welcome it as equally as I welcome the later, sun-filled walk above the tree line.
The peak awaits me.
