The Great Journey
Of a great distance.
I tried to head towards a distant town. Setting out walking, the way was at first obvious. Broad and flat.
Turning after turning, I chose what seemed the right way. I began to encounter dead ends and more than once had to backtrack.
I have reached a village. It is indeed far from my home. Is it the town I sought? I do lot believe I can even know, for the journey was so long my destination may have changed character between setting out and arrival.
Or this is a different town than I had meant.
Whom shall I meet here, and what shall I do? I had an errand in mind, will it be done?

Can I accept that this is where I have been brought?
Let me accept the dawns that this unfamiliar place will bring me, Lord.
