The Brook
Within.
On the way, hard to find in the hills, there is a clear brook washing across rocks. I have never seen anyone else here, even as I have rested next to it many times. This small stream of water becomes the river that carved the same valley I can see from the switchbacks.

There is a clear brook within me, hard to find and small. From it flows all later power. I recognize it seldom, for my thoughts are so often occupied.
Let me stay a while next to this small brook.
