The coffers are empty, the cisterns dry, the lands depleted. Wasteland, it feels, spreads from horizon to horizon.
I cry out to you. Lord. It is no figurative plea: I groan aloud, needy.

But providence was already on the way. What looked like desolation was just the brown field before new growth.
And the worry I had? Dispelled as my spine stiffens and my heart quickens.
Lord, you answer my pleas without fail, with smooth power making its way throughout everything.
Let me learn to ask earlier.
