Thankful to not be the at the center.
Thankful that I am not at the center of things, I could not bear it.
Thankful that the sun rise and sets irrespective of my doings. The world’s clockwork continues.
Thankful that the rains fall upon my neighbors and myself all at once. The world treats us the same.
Thankful that, while a unique individual, I am not unlike my fellows. We are commonly human.
❖
Lord, thank you for making me one of many, a part of the whole.

Consider:
Can I be grateful that I am not the central actor in the story of the world?
