I am a river through dry land, Lord, let me quench thirst.
I am a kind word on a hard day, Lord, let me lift spirits.
I am words of courage in the face of fear, Lord, let me stiffen spines.
Am I adequate to all these tasks? Where do I get my own thirst quenched, my own spirits lifted, my own spine stiffened?
❖
You are my river, my kind word, my courage, Lord.
Let me pass on what you bestow upon me.

Can I accept your power flowing through me?
